Emergency Root Canal
Teeth can die for many different reasons e.g. decay or accidents, and this may lead to the formation of a large, painful abscess if not treated.
Here at CMDental, we follow a basic procedure when doing a root canal:
- The inside of the tooth is cleaned and sterilised to remove any remaining dead tissue and bacteria.
- The technique of rubber dam is used to isolate the tooth from the rest of the mouth, preventing recontamination of the root chamber.
- A filling is then placed into the root and the crown of the tooth restored.
The number of roots varies between the teeth, which means that the time for a root filling appointment may differ. During your appointment, the dentists at CMDental will also prepare a post-surgery dental care plan for the faster more effective healing of the tooth and area that has been affected.
